This newest version of the app is my first foray into the mobile Maschine universe and for the most part Ive found it to be of an exceptional quality. It took me a little bit to fully understand how to use the sequencer and everything else. But once I had that down everything else made sense to me and in my opinion the applications interface is laid out really well. I also found the quality and diversity of the samples to just be top notch and really high quality. This is actually one rare instance for me that I feel an in-app purchase is warranted (though, honestly, I felt they should have just included all current and future sounds, samples, etcetera, in a one-time up front price). The only thing that I found severely lacking, as I mentioned in my title. Is the huge lack of normal export options. Now, I should first state that Im very grateful for having Audiobus compatibility. That is something I believe any serious music production application should offer by default. Having that actually does solve a lot of export issues in my opinion. Yet, I was shocked by the fact that the only two in-app export choices available were, "Export To iTunes" and "Export To SoundCloud". Seriously? I just find it hard to believe that Native Instruments could not figure out how to add the ever-useful "Open In" function, an export to Audioshare or an export/copy/paste to Audiocopy. I believe that all three of those options are just essential (along with Audiobus as I said), to any serious music production program today. Why, Native Instruments, left any one or all of those features out this app, well, I just find bewildering and counterproductive to offering a competent music app for sale. So, while I did give the application a neutral three star rating, I still do recommend it. Just make sure you have Audiobus installed along with it and be aware of the fact that at least in my opinion, the export choices are quite weak. I would hope and ask the developer to please update the application and add those important features to iMashine 2, thank you. Thanks for all the hard work no doubt put into this program and God bless. iPhone 6 Plus/iPad Air 2 iOS 9.2.1
These beat makers are boring. The technology of iPhone, iPads, are capable of a lot, but many app developers limit these programs to mere toys. Its frustrating.
Not bad but can you get refunds when purchasing and app?
Needs IAA, MIDI and Ableton Link support. Audiopaste too. Its just a one-app band without it.
I will never download another music creating app agian
1. Slicing? People who use 16 pad devices tend to want that feature first and foremost. 2. How about 8 tracks? 4 is not enough for most people unless you wanna tend the pads like a tight flock, and really manage stuff...which zaps creative flow. 3. Note edit? Come onnnnnn... 4. Effects are a bit meh....ok a lot meh... 5. Im still not hardcore friends with your export system...pad stems anyone? Im down! Its time NI! Time to rule!
Love the Bluetooth feature but I had another idea in mind. You guys should add maybe at least up to 8 patterns and for each sound there should be a piano roll editor
I really do love this app. Had it on my iPhone 1st and got an iPad later just for the app. But none of my previously created projects transferred over onto my iPad? Please help!
Avid supporter of the first iMaschine and a contented user of the new one, the only problem I have is not with the mechanics but instead with the in-app purchasing. When I had the original I purchased a good deal of sounds packs, as you need to, but after the new model came out, all my sounds were uninstalled (not by me) and now whenever I hit restore purchases it says "error". If this were anything else I would just deal with it but because I bought and now the only way is to buy again, I dont know I just feel that its kinda shady on the part of NI. Possibly a user error but I doubt it because Ive been trying to fix it for months. Please fix soon, I would like to export my beats to Traktor Pro II.
Its a pretty good app for those who havent had many drum pads, and would like to practice on something that has no production value. If your trying to actually make decent beats this app is not for you. I see the apps value to other though. I wish I could return.
Make a R&B kit in the expansion store please
Ill be using this for ill noise. My man
I love the app, its very good for musicians to use click tracks, however it needs to have a time signature setting on it. Everything else is good
Everything in this app is nice but there is no reverb of any kind. Please add reverb please
Literally just bought the ultimate collection, and had the Solar...previously. You just published a nice update, the exporting function already was functional but looks like it will be even more so. I have Gadget and Beatmaker 2, Akai IMPC, EasyBeats & DM1 and iMaschine 2 is my favorite for composing and for most used out of all those. Keep it up and more kits please, and perhaps an HD sound upgrade? More effects, and patterns (I believe they are called patterns there are 4 currently) If someone reading is on the fence, its well worth the cost, Id pay more and will as the HD version is bound to be on its way (after they read my review of course).
App is still moving along. Better export and sharing features. Very good. Would still like to see more direct Traktor iOS integration.
Very slick app, I think it has the most intuitive sampling interface of any of the drum pad type apps Ive tried. Easy to record, trim, normalize, etc. Thanks NI, for adding Ableton Link, Ill be able to use this with all my other ios music apps and sequencers. Pivotal update! For using this with apps that dont support Link, take a look at the app "Link to Midi", for making a midi clock from the Link apps.
Will this be possible? But the app is awesome!
Woah! Link??? Didnt see that coming. NI is stepping up their game big time. Finally making music on iOS is getting real. Love improved export to Maschine. Now Im all like oomph tss oomph tss all day long.
